On a beautiful summer day, Alex and Sarah got married at Perry Park Country Club in Larkspur, Colorado. The had a lakeside ceremony, overlooking the mountains, and a golf course among the evergreens and huge red rocks. It was a beautiful backdrop for them to exchange vows and celebrate with their family and friends.

Alex and his groomsmen got ready in the men’s locker room, while Sarah and her girls got ready in the bridal suite upstairs. Sarah’s mother and sister (also maid of honor) helped her into her dress, veil, and shoes, and then she revealed her completed bridal look to her bridesmaids. Their reactions were so sweet, and both Sarah and the girls shed some tears.

Before the ceremony, Alex and Sarah both separately read letters that they had handwritten to each other. This is such a sweet idea if you are planning on not seeing each other before walking down the aisle!

The groomsmen prayed over Alex, and the bridesmaids did the same with Sarah. Then, the boys took their places, and Sarah walked down the stairs and down the aisle with her father. When Alex first saw his bride, he completely lit up. It was such a precious moment!

Alex and Sarah wrote their own vows, and afterwards did a sand pouring ceremony. When they were pronounced man and wife, and Alex dipped Sarah for their first kiss. They walked down the aisle hand-in-hand, fists in the air.

Afterwards, they took golf carts across the lake and onto the course for some portraits. We explored the area and took photos by the lake, in front of the 200’ tall Sentinel Rock, and at a cave with carvings dating back to the 1860’s!

Their reception came just in time as it started to rain, but then during the Maid of Honor speech, a rainbow revealed itself outside the window, and the sky cleared up!

Thankfully it didn’t rain enough to move the dance party indoors. Alex and Sarah had their first dance outside on the patio overlooking the lake, and then were joined by their friends. It was such a fun atmosphere! At the end of the night, all of their family and friends lined up with bubbles, and sent the newlyweds off to their honeymoon in Cancun!
