Engagement Session

information + pricing

Let’s be honest, getting pictures taken can be scary! I might take photos all day every day, but as soon as someone points a camera at me, I forget what to do with my hands. I’m here to make sure that you and your partner are as comfortable as possible when you are getting your engagement photos taken. I'll help guide for some poses, but most importantly I capture the love you two share and let your personalities show. My ultimate goal is for you to have a fun experience, and to capture you and your partner in your element- laughing and enjoying each other’s company!

“Normally I skip past reviewing but my experience with Gabrielle deserves recognition!! Gabrielle was absolutely incredible. She suggested locations (since we were from out of town) went above to scout out specific areas for cute backgrounds & she got to know us within a small amount of time and was able to capture the two of us together as individuals. Truly incredible, couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Engagement pictures are once in a lifetime and she truly captured us as a couple! Love love love her!!!”

Your Engagement Session

WHERE IN THE WORLD SHOULD WE DO THIS THING?

Your engagement session will take place in a location of your choice. I always recommend somewhere that is personal to you. If you love being in the mountains or spend every weekend on a lake, that should be part of your session! Maybe you’d like to go somewhere where you have history: like where you first met, had your first date, your favorite hike, where your proposal was, or where your wedding will be! If you don’t have a specific place in mind, that’s okay. If you have a general area, or specific look & feel you’re going for, let me know! Whether you’re looking for a gorgeous mountain view, a forest, a meadow of wildflowers, a waterfall, an alpine lake, or a cute village, I can give you some great location suggestions to choose from.

WHEN SHOULD WE SCHEDULE OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

Schedule as soon as possible! What time of year you would like your engagement session to take place is up to you. Some people prefer right away so they can mail their save the dates. Others schedule for a particular season, like the Fall for yellow Aspens or Winter for some fun snow photos.

Reach out and I can send you my calendar so we can pick your date.

WHAT TIME IS THE BEST FOR PHOTOS?

Golden Hour! Golden Hour is the hour before sunset and the hour after sunrise. (How many times can I say ‘hour’ in this paragraph? The limit does not exist). This is a beautiful time for photographs because the sun is lower in the sky, creating beautiful, soft, golden light.

Of course you can schedule for a different time, but I highly recommend the evening or early morning.

CAN WE BRING OUR PETS?

Of course! I love incorporating animals into engagement sessions! Whether you want to bring your dog(s), your cat(s), your pet rock, I’m in! If you do decide to bring your pet(s), I recommend bringing a friend along to hang out with them for the photos they aren’t in. Let me know in advance if you’d like to bring your pets along because that may determine the location of the session.

What SHOULD WE wear?

Most importantly, wear something you feel confident in. In terms of colors, you and your partner don’t need to match (unless that’s your thing). Coordinating works well! You can bring a second outfit if you prefer. If you choose to do this, I suggest a dressy option and a more casual option.

If you decide to wear heels, I recommend having a comfy pair of shoes like sneakers, boots, or sandals in your car just in case we walk up a hill or some rougher terrain.

For Winter sessions, make sure you bring boots, warm socks, and a jacket. You don’t have to keep your jacket on for every photo, but make sure it’s one you don’t mind being photographed in, in case the temperatures drop!

WHAT IF I’m AWKWARD IN PHOTOS?

The great thing about engagement photos is that you have a buddy! The most important thing is the love you and your partner have for each other, which is going to show through the photos. I will help guide you so you look your best, but all you need to do is enjoy your time with your partner (and laugh at my dumb jokes)!

CAN WE GO ON AN ADVENTURE?

Of course! If you are looking to do something out of the ordinary and incorporate what you love to do together, we can totally go do something awesome! If you want to hike, go swimming, off roading, fly fishing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, or anything else you can think of I’m in! If you are interested in incorporating skiing or snowboarding, you can check out my other website Ski the Day for some more info!

My partner and I were visiting Colorado from Texas for a weekend and knew we HAD to get our photos taken with Gabrielle. She met us bright and early, before the sun, at a trailhead and we all hiked together to the most perfect picturesque location handpicked by Gabrielle. I’m a photographer myself and I am NO model. I was so thankful that Gabrielle was able to direct my partner and me, and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We had SOO much fun. I would do It again and again in a heartbeat. And when I received only the SNEAK PEAKS I cried at how incredible they were. They felt so much like us and I am completely in love with every single picture. I couldn’t recommend Gabrielle enough. If you’re in Colorado you NEED to book with her!!
